Google Sheets also has an app so I can open the spreadsheets up on my iPad and update it as you move around the house. Multiple people can be in the spreadsheet at the same time updating it.

To keep everyone in the loop we are using Google Sheets which is basically a free online version of Excel that can be accessed wherever you have an internet connection. Excel will automatically calculate totals for me and I know that as long as my formulas are correct, my totals are correct. I chose Excel because these spreadsheets will be constantly updated throughout the renovation so it’s not practical to use pen, paper and a calculator. I’ve slowed down posting in the last few months as I’ve been busy with a different kind of project… helping my parents plan the renovation of their 1980’s home (long overdue for an update!) I previously made an Excel spreadsheet for their bathroom renovation but since there are bits and pieces being updated throughout the house, I made an entire spreadsheet to track all the rest of the renovation with separate tabs for each room / zone.

How much longer do you want to say, “I wish I could fix my life or be more organized?” Stop wasting time and get it together now! If your strengths lie elsewhere, hire a professional organizer! Above all else, do something. You all have the “it” factor, but not planning properly can get in the way. The most rewarding thing I can give myself is an hour of foot soaking and rubbing. Some people do all their meal preparation on Sundays so they have at least three days of meals ready, making it impossible to reach for the packaged meals or snacks. If the mind is right and the body is well-fueled, you will have no problem completing your tasks. Designate a specific day for grocery shopping. Yes, you can hire an accountant, but you still have to get your expenses in order for them to properly do their job.Īnd if you have a good accountant, you should respect both their time and your wallet by having your stuff in order. I hate really anything related to paperwork or taxes. The tasks that look way too daunting are the projects you should tackle first. You can even get wildly detailed and write what time you’d like to get your sh*t done! 2. When you prioritize the to-dos, they are less overwhelming. After you’ve completed writing your daily to-do, write a list of the things you’d like to get done in the next couple of weeks. Go old school and handwrite your to-do list for the day. In order to make my dreams a reality, I realized that my ADD mind had to figure out a way to define and organize my life priorities.
